Camberley Street Skate - 24 March 2012 - 14:43 23 Mar 12 Lets try this again...

Camberley Street Skate
Saturday 17th March 2012
Meeting place: Camberley Arena Leisure Centre car park
Leaving the car park at 2:30pm, don't be late!

I'll bring the Cambox 2.0 if someone else can bring a music mix to play!?

This is the first street skate of the year so we will be taking it VERY easy. Lets see if we can get as many people along to start skating outside early

P.S. There is also a facebook event

Re:Camberley Street Skate - 24 March 2012 - 11:59 24 Mar 12 I'll do one of these but I think i'll wait until I get some inlines next month, don't want to bash up my new quads and I remember the effort it used to take on quads.

Carl.

Re:Camberley Street Skate - 24 March 2012 - 20:37 25 Mar 12 Very enjoyable skate, weather couldn't be better and nice friendly supportive group
Big learning experience for me with a number of firsts . . . my first street skate tackling both smooth and bumpy roads, going on and off pavements, avoiding drain covers and other hostile road obstacles, going up and down hills, controlling speed, interacting with cars and buses etc, first use of a heelbrake, first use of a homemade heelbrake (prototype worked well but needs some development), first real use of 90mm wheels (my initial thoughts - great for speed, rolling and smoothing rough surfaces) and I think I managed to restrain myself to falling over just the once!!
Thanks to DB for leading the route and carrying the tunes, and Red for coaching on the "dummies guide to stopping"

Re:Camberley Street Skate - 24 March 2012 - 22:51 25 Mar 12 Everyone did great. Well done

Drain covers aren't hostile. In fact, once you can skate over them without issue you'll relax a lot more on other surfaces

Well done again
