Re:Berlin Marathon - 23:50 28 Sep 05 Thanks for the cool messages of support guys I really appreciate it. The most serious fall was in the finishing 1km, I felt really strong and decided to break early. In the middle of the break another skater clipped my wheels from behind and took me right out. I fell banged my head on the tarmac and then got "kneed" in the head by another skater which sent me back to the tarmac and broke the other side of my helmet. To make it more “interesting” 4 skaters skated over my fingers and crashed into me etc.

That will teach me to speed. I will be holding another one of those go faster sessions at Eelmore track in October date to be fixed, we will be practicing among other things "how not to fall"

The helmet I was wearing is the Met Ippogrifo

Re:Berlin Marathon - 00:11 29 Sep 05 Well done for Berlin Ruff! Sorry to hear about your fall...it sounded pretty bad....much worse in fact than the silly little fall I had which managed to break my wrist and put me in plaster! Very glad you are OK though....time for a new helmet by the sounds of things

Re:Berlin Marathon - 07:44 29 Sep 05 I practice how not to fall on a regular basis, even while walking. It's a tricky one to be sure.

Glad you're basically OK though...

I think I have that helmet too actually...

Re:Berlin Marathon - 17:35 29 Sep 05 Wow! well if your gonna fall, then do it properly hey Ruff!

I hear that doing a course on being a clown helps hugely as it teaches you how to fall safely. I know when I fall I try to roll as much as possible to take the energy out.

I hope the fingers get better soon Ruff
