Trip to Wales to see Frannybee - 14:45 04 Mar 06 dogsbody wrote:

Trip to Cardiff to see Frannybee
If anyone else wants to organise these trips that would be great

Well as the sayings go…
You don’t ask you don’t know…..
Its better to organise things early..
So with this in mind..
I have just been looking in the skate Diary for this year to try and find a good weekend for us lot to invade Wales and I’m after people views……….

The two weekend which seem good to me are:
3/4 June
10th/11 June

As this seems an acceptable distance from Le Man and also hopefully the weather shouldn't be too bad I have provisionally talked to Frannybee to check she is about and all appear Ok for either of these weekends…

One thing to note is if we go for the weekend of the 10th we could attend the 'second skate of the month' which is held in Cardiff...

So any preferences anyone or are these dates completely out?

(Lemming I see from LSST that there is Mac 2 North Region Marathon and Sursee, Switzerland on these two weekend but wasn’t sure if you were planning to do them?)

Also do you want to make it a Day trip or a weekend (Staying over Saturday night)?B&B would be somewhere in the region of £20 ish

All views welcome please let me know and Hopefully I can get this trip organised

Re:Trip to Wales to see Frannybee - 22:43 04 Mar 06 Hmmm, I'm thinking a day trip would be good and more people could come but at a good 2 hour drive it may be a bit much! What about taking the train?

While June is free now it may start booking up with events so how about May time?

What you mean Skate events? if not what sort of event do you mean?

BTW Training it would cost anywhere between £32-£46!! and thats from Reading and not even to where Frannybee lives (I'm not 100% sure where she lives TBH so I just did a general price) Its alot train travel

Re:Trip to Wales to see Frannybee - 11:48 05 Mar 06 To get to Camberley from Swansea cost me nearly £50 return and was a 4 hour journey, not counting the 2 train changes. To drive is just under 3 hours and less than a tank of fuel each way (shared between the passengers and driver). I know it's a hike. If people just wanted to come for the day, no problem. Also no problem for those who want to extend their trip to an overnighter. Whatever, I'll go along with what you guys decide.

Timo, sounds like a plan.

Re:Trip to Wales to see Frannybee - 12:38 05 Mar 06 Yeah, looks like a day trip is out, sorry, just wondered

Well last year most of the skate events we did were in June/July, so I just wanted to make sure we didn't double book.

I think it's a great idea to see frannybee, honest!

Re:Trip to Wales to see Frannybee - 12:37 06 Mar 06 June might be a bit tough for me work-wise, as it's our year-end and I'll need to attend stock-takes etc. Will need to let you know nearer the time. But would love to go.
