Le Mans 2006 - Transport - 21:36 09 Apr 06 OK, time to try and work out how we are all getting there!! Please make your choice and post up, I'll update this post.

We (well me) will be traveling out on Fri 30th June and back on Mon 3rd July unless of course you wanna do something differant... as long as you are at Le Man from 16:00 1st July till 16:00 2nd July

There are two options...

Train - This means a train to Waterloo, Eurostar to Paris and TGV to Le Mans. There is a Telegraph Eurostar Offer on at the moment. It does mean that you can also travel on the Saturday if you want as long as you get there before 16:00. There will be a couple of us taking cars so we should be able to pick you up and take you to the train station. You should also be able to give your kit to somone else that is driving as long as everyone doesn't want to train!

Drive (Ferry) - It is a bit slower than the train with an early start on Friday and late home on Monday. It is also a bit more expensive however with four people in a car it is a lot cheaper and more fun Red has a discount card for Brittany Ferries and petrol is cheap when split up again so I suggest that those of us taking this option pool our money evenly. Please post up if you want a lift or are willing to drive. We probably need at least one more car. Oh and if you are driving as well you don't have to offer the rest of your car to others, some of you might like a quiet drive on your own

Plane - Both BA and Easyjet fly to Charles de Gaulle in Paris or Ryanair fly to Tours or Nantes but then you will have to get the train again. It is possible to do it and to get some cheap fairs but probably not worth it.

Current setup...

Car 1
Dogsbody - Driver
Lemming

Car 2
Red - Driver
Merry
Chuckle Bunny

Car 3
Freeman - Driver
Dave
Cheryl

Car 4
Drakey - Driver
Dan Solo

Re:Le Mans 2006 - Transport - 23:21 09 Apr 06 I'll have several options - ideally I don't want to take my car, but I can if needed.

If all teh cars are full and it's just me, I'm likely to bring the bike. If there's space in a suitable car, then I'd be happy to be sociable and travel with people.

Re:Le Mans 2006 - Transport - 11:05 10 Apr 06 Depending on how much stuff I'll be cramming into my car - I could split the back seat and take another / 3rd person.

It's an option.

Re:Le Mans 2006 - Transport - 12:02 16 Apr 06 I have just added the third car but as it looks like no one is taking train or plane so we really need another driver at least although ideally two!! Could two of you please come forward and offer to drive.

We will be travelling down in convoy so you won't get lost and we will all be sharing all the ferry & petrol costs equally so you shouldn't loose out at all.

Re:Le Mans 2006 - Transport - 13:51 16 Apr 06 At the moment I wouldn't like to say if we have space in our car coz I dont know Max and his friend's plans yet and even if they take their own car between them, my sister may decide to come along in our car instead.

You already have a third person.......me. but as I'm only little you could get a 4th person in the back to look after me whilst you are driving or.......will Aunty Claire look after me
