Goodwood problem - 00:04 11 Jul 06 I am not doing to Oxford until September now so I will not have any where to stay. I should do you the courtesy of cancelling my registration. Even if there were tents like Le Mans I don't have one. I think Yorkshire to Goodwood by trian is not really feasible.

Sorry

Re:Goodwood problem - 01:30 11 Jul 06 Is anyone actually staying at the Goodwood ground? I wonder if there are any travel lodges, it would make a pleasant trip and I could do some other stuff to make the most of my holiday. It goods like a lot of funand I fancy visiting the area

It would have been good to stay with one of you but the internet, strangers and all that. I am sure your all decent people but I guess it would be a little tough

This link shows the area, with an arrow where the racing circuit is.
http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=487500&y=107500&z=6&sv=487500,107500&st=4&ar=Y&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf&ax=487500&ay=107500

This link gives a list of Travel Lodges. I found one at Fontwell, near Arundel, and another at Emsworth, near Havant.

I don't think you will find anyone staying in the area. The Camberley crowd will mostly be travelling south to Goodwood, probably through Midhurst on the map.

If you don't have transport, you can probably find a Travel Lodge in the Camberley area. Look for the surrounding towns http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=487673&y=160345&z=6&sv=487673,160345&st=4&ar=Y&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf&ax=487673&ay=160345, and get a lift down there on the Sunday..

Re:Goodwood problem - 11:28 11 Jul 06 Do you have a post code for the race course so I can look it up on the AA site? Can't find it Laura Walker (not skated much since 13 years old-now 23). Grade 8 figure skating, played ice hockey and just started again. Competent but rusty roller skater

Re:Goodwood problem - 12:11 11 Jul 06 If you zoom in on my first link above, (little icon thingy at the bottom right - you may have to scroll to view), it will take you to the Aerodrome and Motor Racing Circuit, which is under the arrow. It won't have a postcode as it belongs to the Goodwood Estate, owned by Lord Whatshisname (can't remember at the moment, he hasn't phoned me recently). So the postcode for all mail is Goodwood House, (PO18 0PX) which is not where the Circuit is.

Re:Goodwood problem - 17:32 11 Jul 06 MCS & Laura, As Merry said above there is a link that gives you the full address of the motor circuit and driving directions if you want them. The postcode you want is PO18 0PH. A great talk from @davecarroll at #DigitalSurrey tonight. He's the writer of the United Breaks Guitars song and a great talker - Twitter Status
