I was not able to find anything definative as a top tip of where to stay but generally speaking www.sussexlive.com is the place to check. There is camping at the Ship and Anchor which is apparently about 6 miles away and there did use to be camping at the Goodwood Racecourse which is even closer.
But, of course, for those of you on popstar wages there is the Marriott Hotel within the Goodwood Estate @125 GBP a night. Check out the website for the Goodwood Estate for more info.

i stayed there a few months back and it was £45 a night, very basic but might suit your requirements.
