Rubber matting for Goodwood - 09:09 23 Jul 08 This will be the first of a few posts asking for things!

The new timing system uses two wires across the track. If the weather is dry then we should be able to gaffer tape these wires to the track however if it is wet or damp we really need a mat to lay over the wires.

The timing company can supply this however it is very heavy and expensive to buy/ship so if we can source our own then we can save about £200!

The stuff they use is Rubber Matting from Farnell (catalogue # 3, page 956) -
Industrial Matting (Cobarib)
Order code 150-886 - 0.9m wide x 10m length x 3mm thick @ £103.57
Order code 150-889 - 1.2m wide x 10m length x 3mm thick @ £137.98

Does anyone know a local source or something else we can beg/borrow/steal to use??

Thank you

Re:Rubber matting for Goodwood - 11:46 23 Jul 08 Do we require both the listed items?

If it's just one rubber mat we require, then does it need to be 10 metres long?

The ones you listed are no longer available from Farnells.

Re:Rubber matting for Goodwood - 12:42 23 Jul 08 No, just one or the other. We just need one mat at 10m long (that is how long the wires are) and approx 0.9m wide (wires should be about 30cm apart so this should cover them and allow for some movement). We could use more than one mat but then you have to stick them together somehow and not ideal at all!

Correct, those ones are no longer available from Farnell
