Bath to Bristol "Board Meeting" - 10 Sep 2011 - 13:43 14 Jul 11 I was going to write a long post with all the details in but as usual Jo has done a great job of giving all the information you need...

Saturday 10th September is the date for the fifth annual Lush Longboards Bath to Bristol Charity Skate and this year it's going to be an extra special event. This year our charity day of skate is called The Bristol Board Meeting!

For 2011 we're raising money again for a very important charity – Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan Cancer Support is very close to our hearts as the charity provides specialist support for thousands of people across the UK who are battling Cancer; and Macmillan has been a great support to our good mate Longy (aka Mikey Johnson) as he recovers from illness. To say thank you to Macmillan Cancer Support, we’re skating to raise money for them.

This year’s event is also special because it’s an International event. We’ll be skating on the same day as the Toronto Board Meeting and the Paris Board Meeting so we’ll all be skating together across the globe with the Canadian and French events.

The Bristol Board Meeting is all about wearing proper business gear, so shirts and ties and suits are the order of the day! It'll be lots of fun so get your gear ready and we'll see you on the day. We're going to spread the love for skateboarding, gather the cash for Macmillan and have a good old laugh together along the way.

Many of you will have done this event before but for those of you that haven’t it’s a fantastic coming together of a whole heap of skaters with one thing in mind, to have fun, to skate like maniacs, to raise loads of money for a very good cause and to have a right old giggle back at Lush HQ on their super smooth private hill for sliding and general skateboard tomfoolery.

Last we had 200+ skaters and this year we’re hoping for even more. Let’s make this the biggest one ever! Can we get more skaters than Toronto?? UK represent! DO IT!

Sign up to join the skate by donating a minimum of £10 at www.justgiving.com/lushlongboards2011. If you can afford to give more then please do. All money will go to support the work of the Macmillan nurses helping many many people of all ages recovering from cancer. Please make sure to put your name against the donation!

You can check for all the latest gossip, news and exciting updates about the big day on the forum at www.lushlongboards.com

If you are sponsoring a skater, please give as much as you can to this very worthy cause. Please do make sure to put the skater's name against your donation!! This can be done as a comment as you donate here on JustGiving.

We need to keep track of all the donations because all skaters who raise more than £50 in sponsorship via JustGiving will be entered into a prize draw to win a fabulous Lush Longboards Kisiwa longboard deck... !

So please give generously!
