Farnborough (Eelmoor) Test Track - 10:00 10 Aug 05 This thread discusses the Content article: Farnborough (Eelmoor) Test Track

I would recommend this track as a great place to start practicing skating outdoors if you have done none or little outdoor skating in the past. The surface is practically the same all the way round so no nasty surprises on this course. It is on a slight hill which is great for practicing getting up an incline and stopping (Heel Brake or T stop) on the decline, as well as scissoring.

Its a great track to start building up stamina and technic for London street skates, as it is a loop each time you go you can increase the number of laps you do by one each time, slowly building up your distance.
I\'ll NEVER post on the forums

Re:Farnborough (Eelmoor) Test Track - 10:06 10 Aug 05 Agree with you Merry. It really is a good place to start building up speed and stamina. I may have to go back and get some practice in. Especially for those damn hills on the Camden route.

Re:Farnborough (Eelmoor) Test Track - 21:47 22 Oct 05 Welcome a board siok,
Eelmoor is an MOD test track open all year round, so try it out, it's an ideal place to practice your skating in safety, apart from the odd tank!!

Re:Farnborough (Eelmoor) Test Track - 00:19 23 Oct 05 When the army are there they will fly red flags to stop the public entering.

Saying that, they were there today but with no flags flying and were quite happy to let us skate around as long as we stayed out their way!

Re:Farnborough (Eelmoor) Test Track - 10:26 19 Apr 10 went to Eelmoor on Sunday to do a little skating and found it closed for public access 'cos they were teaching 15 year olds to drive!

does anyone know a way to find out if its open before going down there?

Re:Farnborough (Eelmoor) Test Track - 13:00 19 Apr 10 The only people that can close it are the army so unless they were teaching 15 year old arm kids to drive then it probably wasn't officially closed although you probably wouldn't want to skate on a track with learner drivers.

I don't believe there is a website with details on although I believe there is a number on the sign there that you can call if you need to know if it's open or not.
