Re:Goodwood Roller Marathon - 9th August 2009 - 23:02 02 Jul 09
I have been asked the question that as inline skates aer alwaays going to beat quaddies, can there be a prize for fastest quaddie in each event?
Very few skaters have the cash to buy both quads and inlines, and in view of the huge number of quaddies this year, I can't see this as being an unreasonable request.
4 races- 4 extra prizesNot an unreasonable request at all but I'm afraid the short answer is no.
This was discussed at one of the meetings this year. We already have 24 trophies to give out on the day and you are not the first person to request it more. The longboarders have also asked as well as a request for trophies for the recreational skaters that aren't speed skaters.
The trouble is exponential, the more options we consider the more work is involved, trophies have to be sourced and each one engraved separately, do we just do 1st or 1st, 2nd & 3rd? Male & Female? What makes a quad/recreational skater? Child & Adult? etc. Not to mention having people to authenticate results, there were plenty of skaters last year that said they would race on one thing but raced on another or swapped half way through.
Having said all that, if you, the NRHA, or whoever would like to organise some trophies and the checking of results then we can happily help supply chip timing details on the day and after the event. You can even use the podium when we are not using it.
First face to face with prospective customer. Hour long meeting not bad for walking in off the street. Lots to think about though :-/ - Twitter Status |
