Le Mans 2006 - Packing list - 21:59 27 Mar 06
It seems some of you are getting itchy feet gatting ready for Le Mans, I don't blame you, I'm the same So here is a shopping list of the things you will need to buy/borrow and also the things you don't need to bring with you
Please make suggestions in this thread if I have missed anything and I'll update this top post. Please lets not worry about travel at the moment, that will come later, please don't worry, it's all in hand 
When you do do your packing PLEASE remember that we are only staying for 3 nights! it looks like space is going to be at a premium in the cars and we have all our tent and skate stuff to pack in the cars too!
Each person/chuckle bunny should bring I know some of you are sharing but you get the idea! - Passport (and a photocopy) - European Health Insurance Card - Medical Certificate (and a photocopy) - Skates - Helmet (you will not be able to skate without this!) - Pads - Holiday Insurance details - Spending Euros - Tent - Air mattress (nice to have) or ground mat - Sleeping Bag - Alarm Clock or something to wake you up for your shift! - Toiletries - Collapsible Chair - A plate, bowl, mug and cutlery for yourself - Any medication you need! - Warm clothing (for inbetween night laps if cold) Optional items (mainly to remind me!) - Torch - Sunglasses - A water bottle to keep in the pits for after each lap - Suntan cream - Sun Hat - Umbrella - Spare wheels/frames/bearings/tools - Energy drinks (plus bottles to mix it!) - Contact your mobile provider to make your phone work in France - Camera - GPS - MP3 player - Car charger for phone, GPS & MP3 player - Music for the car trip (check with your driver) - Pillow - Coat - Flip Flops (so you can walk to/in the showers) - Ear Plugs (not really needed but in case) - Towel - Clothes to sleep in! - Plastic bags for dirty clothes - Contact Lenses/Fluid and Glasses
People driving should bring - Car Insurance docs (covered for France, you should just need to call them, they may issue a green card) - Take your log book, MOT certificate and ALL current insurance documents (in case you get stopped by the Police or customs) - Drivers Licence (paper and card if you have one) - Spare car key (will allow others to store things in your car for safety) - Install headlight converters (probably not worth it) - Warning Triangle (French law) - Spare bulbs (French law) - GB sticker (French law) - High-vis vest in glove box (French law) - Dogsbody will supply - If you already have breakdown cover then the AA will usually cover you for 72 hours in Europe - check your cover
The organiser (Dogsbody) is bringing - Penknife - Camping stove - Gas Bottle - Couple of tables - Cooking implements - A disposable BBQ - BBQ tongs - Can opener - Lemmings Gazebo - Blanket - Air matress for pit area - Two chairs for pit area - A reliable stop watch - Sellotape - Tea towels - Pump for air matress - Hammer for tent pegs - Light metal hangers - Spare batteries for walkie talkies (and charger if required) - First aid kit - Safety Pins - Pain killers - Toilet Roll (Andrex Aloe Vera for Red!) - Rubbish Sacks - Dish cloths - Matches - Washing Up Liquid Food - Lots of chocolate - Tinned food - Pasta - Pepsi - Squash (orange?) - Pot Noodles - BBQ food - Fruit (inc. Bananas) - Veg - Breakfast cereal (Fitness or Special K & Frosties) - Tea - Sugar - Foil - Butter - Marshmallows - Biscuits - Ketchup - Bacon - Milk
