Euroblade is a free family street skate around Southampton that happens each year around September time. It is in association with Southamptons twinned city of Le Harve, France where many skater cross the channel to take part in this event - this may explain the early start time! Starting at 9am. It is a free event and on a first come first serve basis you can get a free 'continent' breakfast on arrival as well as a free T-shirt and water at the half time stop. As with all Street Skates the skills required are to be able to skate and stop, the route is approximately 10 miles long but this is done over 2 hours so it is a very slow skate - remember kids of all ages take part as this is a family event. The2005 route however did include quite a few advanced level skills including up and down curbs, tram/train lines, rough surfaces and cobbles. Music is also provided during the route. A great Morning out - Like us you could have a cook breakfast on the way there, make a trip of it with some friends and you'll have a ball - Not for your speed skaters but a nice skating event for the end of a summer season....Plus you get to see how the french skate :-) Lots more details can be found on the Southampton council website.
